Safeguarding is everyone's business

Safeguarding is everyone's business

SAFEGUARDING can make a huge difference to the lives and outcomes of the people that Turning Lives Around supports.

‘Safeguarding is Everyone’s business’ is the theme for this year.   To be inclusive TLA has invited all our teams, clients and suppliers to take part in a series of events which highlight their commitment to Safeguarding.

TLA events include Safeguarding Bingo, Group cook-in, Safeguarding Quizzes, workshops and Information Sessions all designed to test our knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding.  The week culminates with the retirement party for our Safeguarding Queen, Lesley Sendall-Long who leaves us on Thursday.

To demonstrate how seriously we take safeguarding we have invited all our suppliers to take part in events prove their understanding and take part in training if necessary.  Understanding how important safeguarding is and how they can play their part has never been more important.

And we have launched a Pledge 100.  During the week we are inviting clients, staff and suppliers to submit 100 Selfies to show what they are doing to improve their understanding and ability to comply with legislation.  They will be used, with full consent, on our social media and website.

Janet Spencer, our CEO said: “Safeguarding is at the heart of our organisation and we want to play our part in helping our stakeholders understand the role they can play which is why we have challenged suppliers to take part in many of the activities this week.   Safeguarding should be second nature and if we support them to identify abuse and neglect then we can help our clients have better outcomes faster.”

SAFEGUARDING WEEK COMPETITION

TLA received a great response for the Safeguarding competition from our clients. It was very difficult to choose a winner but after a lot of brainstorming we are proud to announce that the winning entry is this beautiful song by Aidan which has won £50 Love to Shop vouchers. TLA would also like to commend the entries from Carrbeck and a Poem by CG and we would like to congratulate all the participants for their fanstastic efforts.

Thank you!!
