New trustee boosts communications expertise
Following the recruitment of Sarah Griffin, Turning Lives Around has added communications and marketing expertise to its Board of Trustees.
Currently Communications Director at a Leeds hospital charity, Sarah is a graduate of Leeds University and has more than a decade of marketing and communications experience, having worked within the health technology industry before moving to the charity sector around three years ago.
She said she was delighted to be joining Turning Lives Around (TLA) - a charity with strong Yorkshire connections and a long history of delivering results for its service users.
“I was looking for my first trustee charity role, and TLA’s ethos and their commitment to supporting people, not just out of homelessness but into positive futures, really appealed to me,” Sarah explained.
“With my ‘day job’ at another charity, I have experience of working within a charitable organisation and am well connected with other health and voluntary sector concerns across Leeds. I’m also hoping my communications background, as well as my passion for all things digital, will help to keep TLA moving forward.”
TLA’s existing trustees have professional backgrounds in law, education, architecture, business, the third sector and politics, and Chief Executive Janet Spencer said they were delighted to welcome Sarah to the TLA team.
“At a time when communication and marketing, particularly on digital platforms, is key to raising awareness and garnering support for what we do here at TLA, we are especially pleased to recruit Sarah to our Board,” commented Janet.
“With her experience and background, I am sure she will be a valued new addition to our team.”
