Turning Lives Around has always thought outside the box to create sustainable futures for our clients. Faced with the challenge of helping our clients into employment we set up Clean Start as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2009.
Starting out as a cleaning business, Clean Start has set itself apart by tackling the projects other companies refuse and has expanded to include decorating, and property clearances which is to grow following the award of a £15,000 grant.
Clean Start takes on:
- Deep cleaning
- House & Garden clearances
- Home removals
Clean Start is now the go-to company for private residents, the public sector and private landlords who need houses cleaned quickly, thoroughly and hygienically.
Beginning as a social enterprise which provided part-time employment for existing and former clients, Clean Start now provides full time employment for five people, plus one part-timer.
On top of this, there are plans to recruit some more part-time staff as the business grows.
As TLA looks beyond Leeds to provide housing solutions, we will roll out our Clean Start services to other locations, including within the Wakefield Council area where we have a new initiative.
Clean Start customers include Leeds City Council, Kirklees Council, Housing Associations and construction and infrastructure specialists, Morgan Sindall.
